I’ve just brought a Foxsat HDR off EBay as a trial replacement for the very expensive Sky. I have no experience of these boxes at all. Everything set up OK connected via cable to by hub but I don’t have any on demand/catch up and there is no option to connect using WIFI. I registered on Freesat site and understood I need to put a ID code in the settings but there isn’t any option there to do it. Have I misunderstood what this box can do?
I now have a FreeSat message on the screen telling me to go to their website and I can’t get behind this screen since I selected on demand > Freesat info.

I tried to auto update software but nothing found.

The Foxsat is now very old and the on-demand services it once had were achieved using MHEG which is no longer supported by the broadcasters.
WiFi is supported but needs a dongle with a specific chipset to work.

You have the latest software. Support for iplayer ended years ago. OTA updates also ceased years ago.
No on board Wifi. Easiest way to connect to network is a pair of homeplugs.
If you want to make the most of the box best to flash the custom firmware add on from AV Forums. It adds a load of capability to the box.

If you want catch up add a firestick to your TV preferably the 4K one.
Tip to view the guide without the loading delay.
Press the schedule button and then red. The box needs to be in sby overnight to get channel updates.
Wow didn’t expect such a quick response, you guys are good, thank you. As I said I brought this as a “toe in the water, see what it’s all about”. The wife is hopeless with tech and she can’t use an Android box or Firestick (we are old gits lol). I think the Humax is a much better option than Sky so I will try the custom firmware or even buying a new Humax.

I imagine that your purchase was not expensive. The HDR-1000S and other models in this series (2nd Generation) support the current on-demand services. G3 units are not made by Humax.
It may surprise you but both the repliers are over 70 but do have tech backgrounds.
I also recommend the custom firmware.
If you can get one of the following twin tuner Humax Freesat boxes do have the catch up services
HDR-1000S – No WiFi but has the informative front panel display.
HDR-1010S – Has Wifi and the front panel display
HDR-1100S – Has WiFi but no display.
Incidentally All of the above can wirelessly view a Custom Firmware equipped Foxsat-HDR recordings with aid of a couple of CF addon packages.
The newer boxes have a superior HD picture compared to the Foxsat somewhat soft picture.
Streaming from the Foxsat gains this picture improvement.
