The Aura uses Android TV 9 pie which was first publicly released in August 2018.
Will Humax update to Android TV 11, released September 2020, and then move Google TV which is due to replace Android TV in 2021/22?
I assume they will have to do somthing as Google only usually support Android for the the current version -2, so currently 9,10 and 11.
Apparently manufacturers using Android TV commit to Google’s upgrade policy of two major upgrades. Device makers are not allowed to simply release two consecutive yearly OS upgrades as the only two upgrades. The Android TV upgrade policy requires the second upgrade is at least three versions higher than the version the device launched with. Manufacturers can also release intermediate version if they want to.
Be interesting to see what happens.
I hope so, being a new box we should get at least 11. But I’m new to Humax and not sure of their track record regarding upgrades.
Any news on this? I see even Nvidia shield has been updated to version 11

The 5th of what? And even what year?
What’s the current Android Security Patch date on the Aura? Mines is still showing April 2021. Just got a new unit a few days ago which updated to the latest firmware and i’m using the Ethernet connection. Is there any settings that have to be activated to make sure the Android software get’s updated?
