Next to quite a few future programmes in the EPG there are icons which look a bit like they should do something. Seems to only be programmes in the near future, and from a quick scan just now only on BBC (so presumably iPlayer linked?)

But what do they mean? They don’t seem playable from the menu (i.e. a programme already uploaded to iPlayer but due to be broadcast in the future for example), am I missing something?

Link above didn’t seem to work for me, so embedded image instead.

No, it’s none of those that I can see. That’s where I looked first.

That triangle within a broken circle denotes episode will be available on catchup (but not immediately).

What an odd thing to code into it! Anyway, mystery solved, thanks!

I wouldn’t be surprised if it is part of the Freeview Play specification.

If the triangle is on its side and so is a standard Play symbol then not that odd. Presumably the broken circle becomes an unbroken circle when it becomes available on catch-up.

An extension of the symbols used on a Youview box which has the latter but not the former. Would be handy to know ahead of time which programmes will be and which will not be available.
