InactiveIn advance of the clocks going forward this weekend, does anyone have any advice on how best to record a programme which spans the time when the clocks change? I have had problems with this on a few occasions, although I have to confess I can’t now recall whether it has happened when the clocks went forward, when they went back or both. It has happened with my current 4000t but also with previous Humax boxes, so it may be a general thing.
What I have noticed is that the recording starts ok, but then cuts off early after the change in the clocks. I have always had the recordings set automatically, but I wonder whether trying a manual recording might be more successful. If I had a better understanding of what data was in a CRID and how the Humax boxes use it, I might be able to answer my own question, but I know people out there do understand these things.
Thank you

ParticipantIf left alone it should just work. If you keep checking on the schedule it will appear to have the wrong start time. Not lost a recording on any of my Humax recorders over clock change.

InactiveThanks Graham. Yes I had assumed that it was supposed to work, and all programmes starting after the change in the clocks do work fine – as you say, the start time looks wrong before the change but then corrects itself after the change. My problem is with the programme that starts before the change and finishes after the change.

Way past my bedtime. Can only suggest you set a auto one off, and add a manual recording with the pre clock change start time and a duration at least one hour longer plus a bit. SAssuming you aren;t intending
Please post what happens to educate us non night owls ?
It will help others in the future. At least with this box you are aren’t likely to run out of tuners especially if you record HD from the PSB Mux.

Will do. Intriguingly, when I look at the EPG I see that it no longer has the incorrect start times after the change that you referred to and which I remember – the EPG does not show a 1.00am on Sunday morning, but instead jumps straight to 2.00am. So it looks as if they have changed the way they deal with clock changes, which may remove the problem anyway.

InactiveJust for the record, both my recordings (both the automatic one and the manual one) worked. Whether this is down to the change in the way Freeview is dealing with the change in the clocks or whether it is because the clocks moving forward is less of a problem than the clocks going back I cannot say, but, if I remember, I will test it out in the Autumn.
