ParticipantIt’s now possible to easily check the Freesat home transponder reception on a G2 box. Before this change you had to use non freesat mode.
When viewing live press 999. Then Home settings -System Info – Signal Info.
There’s no content as there is on a G1 box.

InactiveHi Graham
There is now no content on a G1 box either. Just switched on both my Foxsat HDRs and wondered why the screen is blank on 999, so I came to consult the oracle.
Regards
TimK
P.S. I’m getting this on 11426, H, 27500, 2/3 – Is this correct?

Yes though the actual frequency numbers are slightly different. Originally it was on a different satellite no longer in service and on a Europe beam transponder. When SES astra launched a whole new fleet to 28.2E it was transfered to UK spot beam ( making it very hard to receive in southern Europe. The SES astra birds did not include the original frequency so it was moved to the nearest match. Perhaps because the UK spot beam is now so much stronger it still works with the original database frequency settings.
Nothing has changed other than Freesat now adding a 999 LCN to G2 boxes.
I hadn’t realised that they have removed the data stream (not there was any useful info).
This explains the very odd change my Foxsat-HDR reported during overnight housekeeping.
I’t a sensible change that will help in identifying the reason why users of G2 boxes are unable to get past the postcode verification stage during a freesat re-tune or factory reset.

Still blank on my HDR-1000S. Perhaps it hasn’t caught up yet.
