I have a 5000T connected via HDMI Cable to a Sony Bravia TV. Sometimes on startup the sound is muted. Obviously, I have checked cable connection, volume level on the TV and HDD and that neither is muted. The only way to recover the audio is to power down the TV and reboot it. Anybody any ideas??
I have the same setup. This happens to me too. Power down the TV and sound returns. This does not happen with other connected input devices (Firestick, other Humax recorders). I have no idea why. Annoying but recoverable.
I have had this once or twice myself. The way I work around it is to turn the Humax box on first and then the TV- never had a problem this way. Mine is a Panasonic TV in case for some reason that makes a different.
You don’t say but I will guess its an older model TV?
Try this:
Lindy hdmi cec less adapter (Amazon etc).
