My 9300T has started showing some strange recording behaviour a couple of months ago. e.g.

    – Multiple instances of the same program recorded

    – sometimes these instances show the incorrect program name

    – Sometimes these are only 1s long

    – If I delete them – other, hidden programs show up – i.e. look like scheduled programs which were hidden / not recorded

    etc

Could this be a dough disk ?

Have done a default reset, but not factory reset

    E.g

Instance of a program being recorded 3 times: view “First Dates” 3:17

But it wasn’t First Dates (but I have a schedule item to record that show,so likely saved elsewhere)

These are classic symptoms of the file system becoming corrupt. You need to take action quickly because the next stage will be that all recordings will become invisible. You need to watch any important recordings and then format the drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu. If you want to keep some recordings and are prepared to open the Humax to allow the hard drive to be connected to a PC then you could use humaxrw to copy the recordings to a PC.

Thanks, will give it a try.

Recordings don’t seem to be showing up in the list after re-uploading.

Read snippets of a few people having similar issue on 9300T, but not sure what version of humaxrw they were using – am on 1.15

But then this post mentions giving it a while on 9200… And the list should re-generate itself.

Have formatted and re-uploaded the files ~ 3 times now…

Edit: Waited a good ~20 min and the recordings aren’t showing up.

Interestingly the box HDD Control shows the disk as 98% free – doesn’t see the uploaded files at all.

The output of humaxrw 3: -p *.ts

Shows uploading .ts .elu .epg files, but not .hre files.

    Using humaxcheck I can see:

    Partition 0:

    – .av files

    – .elu files

    Parition 1:

    – .dat files

    – .epg files

    – _RL_BACKUP

    – _RECORD_LIST_

    Partition 2:

    – Image

    – MP3

Nut no .ts or .hre files

    And they’ve now appeared!

    – Formatted the drive again

    – Recorded something briefly so list had 1 item

    – Via PC Re-uploaded the files again after another in-box format

    Code:
    (humaxrw 3: -p *.ts

    ) [SATA dock via eSata]

    – Ran

    Code:
    humaxcheck 3: -l

to see files for the above msg.

    – Put the drive in the box, left it off for a while

    – Turned the box on, but didn’t go into the menu system for a while ~ 20min

    – Then went to check – and the files were there!

As a guess I’d say it was the stage of turning it on but not checking for a while.

Unless the upload somehow worked differently.

There are quite a few reports of difficulty in loading files back onto a 9300T (in my experience there is no problem with the 9200T) and I don’t think the reason is understood. Please could you update us in a few days to confirm that the recordings have stayed visible and playable.

    Still going strong so far:

    – original problem hasn’t re-appeared

    – re-uploaded shows still showing + playing Ok. [Some have the incorrect name due to original problem on the recording]

    Although

    – Some shows, particularly ITV3/Channel 4 / Film 4 still a bit glitchy at times, but I believe this is a separate known issue due to broadcast.

The two things I did differently on the last attempt (see previous post) were:

    – Ran humaxcheck 3: -l to see files for the above msg.

    – Turned the box on, but didn’t go into the menu system for a while ~ 20min

My un-educated guess would be the last one – turning it on but not entering menu for a while.

Thanks for coming back and confirming the good news.

Hard to understand why that should help but certainly worth trying for anybody else having problems uploading recordings.

Maybe an assumption on my part- but from various snippets of info found in these forums it sounded like the box might do some recording list re-indexing work from time to time.

In addition to keeping backup copies of the list.

    e.g.

    https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/restoring-recordings-and-list-to-humax-pvr-9200t

    See point 47

    (Although for 9200T)

My box wasn’t un-responsive at all, but thought I might as well give it some time to settle just in case. And the time I did – the list was populated.

Alas – the box seems to have started to missbehave again – recordings that won’t play and recording over existing programs with something different.

May investigate getting a replacement drive.
