InactiveI bought a Humax FVP-500GB in December. It’s been fine – an occasional minor quirk (just with one programme, oddly) with the green button ‘watch from the beginning’ function.
However in the last few days it’s just absent altogether. I press the green button – and absolutely nothing happens.
Is this a known problem? Is there a quick and simple fix?
Thanks
**Edit** Just tried the red button – it works. Then retried the green button, which now shows the crossed through circle symbol

Please give us an example of a programme where the green button doesn’t work? Does the iPlayer app work?

InactiveI will hazard a guess that you are trying to use the green button on the Wimbledon broadcasts? Because the BBC are streaming from most courts, I wonder if they are maxed out bandwidth wise, so have disabled the “watch from the beginning” option?

InactiveThanks for your replies .. never Wimbledon!
At this precise moment it’s ‘Ill gotten gains’! Sometimes it’s Eastenders – it can be anything.

InactiveBut the bandwidth issue will apply whatever the program, while Wimbledon is still taking place.

InactiveI have just tried to restart Ill gotten gains on my LG TV,via the green button. I get the “restarting program” message flash up but all that happens is that I go to the live stream (but in 4:3 format). So a BBC issue not a Humax one.

InactiveInteresting – thanks – I don’t even get that message – just the crossed circle

When I try on my Humax I either get the same or nothing at all.

InactiveStill not working – I tried to reset the handset but I’m not convinced it’s worked.
It wouldn’t restart Eastenders from the beginning – or anything else. It used to work – but for the last ten days or so it hasn’t. iPlayer works fine.

InactiveI came onto the Wimbledon coverage today on BBC1 or 2 SD and, though I didn’t bother to press it, the “Press Green Button” message was present.

Why are you resetting your handset? This is not being caused by your Humax, the issue is a symptom caused by changes made by the BBC.

InactiveI agree with SSThing.
I wouldn’t mess about with the remote when it’s obviously nothing to do with your problem.
You’ll find the green button is only on the BBC channels, and as usual the BBC has rolled out a new Feature . Just because it looks good for their tech guys.
However they Don’t allow for excessive use by anyone without Freeview play.
Therefore ,even though the green button is there it’s the BBC system that has crashed due to the lack of Band width at their end.(particularly during the Wimbledon season)It’s the same reason that they have trouble with the red button at other times of the year occasionally. I wouldn’t personally use the green button, but use the Freeview play side of your Humax instead, to catch up with something over the last 7days.Good Luck.
