InactiveI have just watched Beecham House from last night on ITV Hub and subtitles would have been quite useful. I have something else from yesterday to watch and would be grateful for guidance on how to switch subtitles on as I couldn’t find them just now.

InactiveYou have to bring up the subtitles menu by pressing the SUB button ,
It will show them as off. press the same button again and they will come on.
at the end of use you have to do the same again, once done a couple of times it should come easily. My wife uses them constantly, However I don’t.
Good Luck.

InactiveDo you mean the SUB button on the 5000T remote?
I thought that only worked for subtitles on live TV or 5000T recordings.
I am talking about the ITV Hub when using catch-up via the 5000T.

InactiveYes we have the 5000t as well.
If you go into the itv hub via the white button with the letter F in red,
rather than the blue catch up button. It will work it works on anything that carries the sub tittles on transmition.
I don’t use the blue catch up button but it should do it just the same.
It also works on BBC 1 via the green button that they use on live Programmes.
That button takes yo to the BBC I player via your internet.
As sub titles work on that there is no reason for them not to work on the ITV HUB
Here is an update, I’ve just got the wife to use the blue catch up button.
She says that it works exactly the same way. So yes it will work for you as well.

InactiveOK, I will give it a try. However, I was not using the “F” button nor the blue button, but catchup via the EPG. Does it make that much difference how you get into the Hub as to whether subtitles work or not?

Just tried Episode 1 FVP-5000T – No subtitle, and Episode 1 HDR-1000S also no subtitles.
Original recording has subtitles – moral is record the series from the live transmission.

Quite agree. Usually do, but forgot this time.

InactiveI have just tried a couple of shows on ITVHub and no subtitles. Subs definitely previously activated and when I returned to live TV, still were.

InactiveI had one of these so I cant check it. But are you saying that even if the subs are not enabled whilst recording you can add them when you are replaying the material.

InactiveAs far as recording on the 5000T is concerned, subtitles are recorded automatically and will display if you enable them when replaying.
However, this thread is not about recording, but the ITV catch-up service which, from the above, appears to live almost back in the 20th century.
