My Foxsat-HDR/500GB has been going wrong for some time, dropping the satellite signal with increasing frequency. As a last-ditch attempt to fix the problem I tried a factory reset, but it didn’t help and without a signal, whenever I turn it on, it demands to be tuned and won’t let me access the recordings menu.

I’ve now replaced it with a 1100S which gets the signal fine. However, there are a few recordings I’d like to recover from the old box if possible. I believe you can do this by moving them to a USB thumb drive and from there to the new machine.

However, since my old box won’t get a signal, and won’t let me get to the recordings menu without being tuned into signal, I have no idea how I can go about it. Is there any way I can either get the recordings menu without tuning the box, or move the recordings any other way?
