Using VPN to view OnDemand services on Humax1100s in Ireland. ITV player and My5 working fine but not BBC iplayer. Does anyone have a work around? Error message is “something went wrong loading this programme”. Thanks!
Cannot say for certain, but could be that iPlayer detected the VPN and blocked you, but the others did not. Maybe a VPN change could sort it.
It’s certainly your use of a VPN that is the problem (well known). The BBC detects VPNs and blocks them. Changing VPN will not solve the problem, you need to subscribe to a DNS service that assigns you a UK address.
There are quite a few “smart UK DNS” services that offer a free one day trial.
