Hi. I have a HB-1000S which uses an external hard drive (no built in storage). The hard drive is nearly full but I don’t want to delete any of the recordings. Can I just disconnect it and pair up a second hard drive to continue recording? Can anyone confirm pairing up a second drive won’t prevent the first drive from working afterwards? So I can just plug back in the first drive if I want to watch an earlier saved recording? Thanks in advance.

No experience with a HB-1000S but based on earlier boxes which did work using a powered usb hub it would be worth trying two drives connected to the hub.

That’s a good idea, hadn’t thought of having two connected together – thanks!

Note only one of the connected drives is likely to be the drive selected as the recording drive.

You may have to select the older drive as the recording drive before viewing older recordings.

Cloning the original drive might make the the original recordings viewable by simply selecting it as the data source. This makes a bit for bit copy of the source drive and copies it to a second drive.

There might be a other way using a usb connected drive cradle with a PC that allows drive cloning from the original drive to a second drive. You may have to remove the original drive from the usb drive box it came in and install it in a USB drive cradle first

Once cloned simply selecting the cloned drive should allow the original recordings to be viewed by simply selectinf it as the source,

The older box (The Freeview HD-FOX-T2) allowed a second drive with media files to be selected as the source for replay (if I remember correctly). Without the actual box unless other members have the same box, this makes you a member likely to add to what works or not. :-)

Please post how you get on to add to the information here to help other users of the same box.
