Hello
Am considering upgrading current HB-1000S to the HDR-1100S mainly for the twin tuner capability. I currently use an external HDD for recording and was wondering whether external HDDs can be used for recording on the HDR-1100S, either as additional space for recordings or instead of the onboard HDD entirely.
I’m wondering this for two reasons:
1. Don’t want the external HDD to go to waste or gather dust; and
2. To save a bit of money and get the 500GB version knowing I can just use my 1TB external HDD.

The Humax twin tuner units such as HDR-1100S cannot be used for recording. Nor can you export recordings from the unit to the external drive (other than those you imported first).
