InactiveHi all,
This has only recently started to happen, missing the last minute or so of recorded shows.
It doesn’t do it all the time but is annoying nonetheless. I don’t really want to mess with the Auto padding option, any ideas?

InactiveBeen happening quite a few times on BBC recordings, probably a broadcaster error as usual.

Please could you quote a few examples of specific programmes that stopped too soon (Programme name, channel, date and time)?

InactiveIt happened for me on BBC Two HD last evening (Monday) at 9PM for Inside Europe. The recording seemed to start too early and finished too soon, missing the last minutes of the programme.

InactiveThe Inside Europe prog last Monday was the first time for me too. (BBC)
This week it was Murder by The Sea on CBS reality.
Oh and just noticed it’s done it again on last night’s Inside Europe recording…

Inactive…and also the end of last night’s University Challenge. (Although the competition had finished, just missed Paxmans waffle at the end, so not too peeved about that…)

Yes I noticed that (on an FVP-5000T Freeview). So the conclusion seems to be that there is nothing wrong at your end and the problem is at the broadcaster end. The BBC used to be the gold standard for accurate recording but my impression is that since they implemented a new system things haven’t been as good. If you go the BBC web site you should be able to find a complaints submission URL; fill in the details you have supplied and wait a week or two and you at least have a chance of getting a sensible reply.

InactiveI’ve just made a complaint on the BBC site.
I’ll keep you posted on what answer I get back

ParticipantAccording to a posting from Luke over at hummy.tv this issue will be resolved by the BBC this week see https://community.youview.com/youview/discussion/comment/18999143/#Comment_18999143

I would be surprised if you don’t hear anything but I guess they may have had quite a few complaints and may send a response to everyone when resolved.

InactiveDon’t think it’s been resolved yet.
I missed the end of “This Week” from last night. (And I’d padded 2 mins onto the end recording section in settings…)

One of the youview employees today stated that the BBC have now issued the fix, at least for freeview.

As recordings using padding ignore what the recorder would otherwise treat as the broadcaster’s triggers, any one who uses padding will NOT see any difference on either platform.

InactiveI have quite an old freeview recorder and have just recently encountered the same problem. After years of having no problems at all I prompted a software update on my recorder after it was in storage for over a year. Ever since the update (last month) I’ve regularly missed the end of programmes. Usually only the last minute, but very annoying at times. It doesn’t seem to happen on any particular channel. Another problem is that I try to record the BBC “weather for the week ahead” every day which is normally on around 1am. More often than not, this recording fails totally, as if the start is being missed. Some of these problems fit in with earlier posts, but the overriding problem seems to be entirely down to the last software update. My recorder doesn’t have the “padding” option discussed in an earlier post. I’d welcome any suggestions.

Start off by telling us which model of recorder you have please.
