    Just to say thanks to a few posters for their posts which have helped me. Had a dish installed last week, as in our location and aerial we lost signal sometimes. We bought a Humax HB 1100s and have had a frustrating time trying to get my head around it.

    Have a smart TV so already had all the box is giving us just need a better reception. The info on sound was ace ;) also a couple of other things, still have a couple of basic?

    Is it best to turn on TV first or the box?

    Welcome to the forum. :-)

    It rather depends on the make and even model of the TV, i.e. the time it takes to boot and something called HDMI-CEC.

    For me with HDMI-CEC disabled, it is TV first then PVR, however Barry has the same brand on TV but a different model and HDMI-CEC works fine for him.

    HDMI-CEC gave me nothing but problems with being unable to turn the Humax on.
