Hi, If i set the padding time at the start and end to auto on my 5000T will it automatically detect if a program is going to start slightly early or if its live go on a bit later etc?

No – If recording from sby it will boot the box at the scheduled time adjusted by the start padding and shut down at scheduled end time adjusted by the end padding.
It takes no notice of the broadcasters accurate recording signals.
If you are away from home for longer than 7 days and don’t set a daily on/off timer the box will stop recording as you will have lost the epg as there is no pre recording 15 mins opportunity to refresh the epg and add the extra day.
Best to set manual repeating timers for content that doesn’t work properly using Accurate Recording.
