My HDR 1000S will not switch on from the box itself or the remote unless I briefly unplug from the mains. This “fix” will last about a day, ie I can switch the box off and on but the next day I have to unplug and plug in again to get the box to work again.
Is there an internal battery that might be dead or is there another problem?
Try turning off HDMI-CEC on your Television.

After making the change reboot the TV then the Humax unit.
I had to do one last power cycle on my HDR-1000S.

I have an LG TV which uses SIMPLINK. I have never used it and can confirm that it is set to off. This problem has only recently started to occur with the same TV.
I suspect capacitors (on the mainboard, not PSU).
