InactiveI’ve had the 5000T for about a month. It’s on the current November firmware but there is an issue with recording anything on BBC4 HD. Every programme says ‘recording failed as no such programme started at this time’ or similar. Yet it plays the programme back fine.
Humax are, as usual, blaming the broadcaster.
What is wrong? I’ve never seen such an error before at all.
Other than that apart from the slow channel changes and terrible UI compared to the humax I had before it’s been fine

That’s a start I did too. I don’t get the feeling they’re going to do much.
The trailer record feature seems to have disappeared too and they’re also blaming the broadcasters for that as well.

I’ve had this BBC 4 problem for some time now.
What is the ‘trailer record feature’ ?

InactiveWhen a trailer comes on about a forthcoming programme there used to often be an option to press the green button and record the entire series. I’ve never seen it on the 5000t.

InactiveBBC4HD issue has been like this for me forever, green button appears sometimes to watch program from the beginning but from memory I have only ever seen it on BBC2 HD. I have never seen green button as an option to record.

Ah right, I haven’t seen that option for ages, long before the new software made the 4000T a 5000T.
Having said that it is extremely rare that I watch anything on live TV, since having the ability to record 4 programmes at once I have everything I want to watch on series record, so it’s not surprising that I haven’t noticed that the green button may have gone.

InactiveI get the failed to record screen a fair bit but the programmes are always there, none of these are from BBC Four.
I’m sure I saw a green record icon for something the other day! If I see one again I’ll mention it.

InactiveI always have the failed/broken record icon on BBC4.
The green button ~ I have seen it on the 5000 but I can’t recall
when, I believe it was on a BBC channel, it seems to be a random thing.

That’s my experience as well. Playing back a few seconds of affected recordings and stopping playback always removes the broken icon. I just ignore them now.

I get the broken recording icon too. Usual ok after playing. But since new update I have had an actual 0 min recording on bbc4 on both 4000t and fox T2 on same documentary about Elvis Costello

ParticipantAs it happened on both boxes must be a broadcaster issue. Was the programme actually transmitted ?

Or neither box has been retuned to the new BBC4HD frequency?

InactiveI did a smart retune last week. It’s the same after. I think I had the box after 18th January anyway so it would have picked up the change when I first had it. That was recording Modus series on a Saturday and also the Synth Britannia thing which was on in the week. Modus was the same before and after the retune. All programmes have played back.
I also now realise I had a funny recording of Room 101. It was set to series record and got some Masterchef nonsense instead.
