A complete guess. Guessing BBC-4-HD/Cbeebies will move to PSB-3 for me 7th March 2018. If correct it will be the first time I can get the above on my Freeview-kit as I use Lark Stoke.

Looks like March 21st for Crystal Palace. 3 Muxes moving, the Com 7 & 8 to the SFN and the local one getting a small signal boost at the same time.

Looks like March 21st for Crystal Palace.

The move is spread over two dates. First BBC 4 HD will start broadcasting on its new mux and then on a later date the broadcast of BBC 4 HD will be switched off from COM 7.

For Crystal Palace BBC 4 HD will be on just on its new mux before 21st March.

From the 1st link in the first post the example given has just 1 week of overlap where both muxes will transmit BBC 4 HD. In the example given the overlap starts about 4 weeks before the COM7/8 frequency switch. If the same applies to Crystal Palace then COM 7 from Crystal Palace will cease broadcasting BBC 4 HD around the 28th February.

But that is not what the http://www.a516digital.comlink link appears to state.

The http://www.a516digital.comlink appears to state that all moves of BBC 4 HD will occur on 11th to 17th January not just the early adopters of CH 55 & 56.

That would please a few, including me.

Any reason why you guess it would be PSB3 over COM8?

Only that the link stated that the destination multiplex wasn’t identified. COM 8 is the obvious destination, why not say so ?

I thought PSB3 was full? Where would the space come from to move it there?

Improved encoders ? There’s only two places BBC4-HD could go, COM 8 (the obvious choice) or PSB 3. If it’s going to COM 8 why not just say so ?

If it was going to PSB3 then surely the BBC would have announced it as being available nationwide?

COM8 makes sense as it’s not full and the switch can be made without too much fuss. IE: Only those would can get BBC4-HD would need to know, and obviously they can already get the tempoary muxes.

Reading the article, it seems the move will be made today, the further retunes later are for the 700Mhz clearance and when COM 7&8 get moved to CH55 & 56 across the country.

As expected, COM8 it is for CBeebies-HD and BBC4-HD.

Yep and when I think its going to go smoothly BBC4 HD and C beebies are nowhere to be found after an automatic and a manual retune.

I know the channels they are supposed to now be on. Band 31 and channel 106 for BBC 4 HD on Winter Hill now but nothing there for me on the Humax

Im getting sick of this even though I can fairly rapidly delete the dross and set up my channels again.

So right now I no longer have BBC 4 HD

Do a signal check on UHF 37 (COM 8). If you have no signal you may have a aerial issue. COM 8 is lower power than COM 7 (COM 7 (UHF 31) 25.7kW COM 8 (UHF 37) 22.6kW).

Just a quick clarification. When doing a manual scan, you are selecting DVB-T2 on the tuning menu page?

Also, according to Grahams post above ‘band 31’ is COM7. You need to scan 37 for COM8.

    Correct

BBC4 HD has moved from COM 7 to COM 8.
