Barry. Can you explain why 2 TV’s show one list of channel numbers (EPG) to the 4000T showing different channel numbers from the same aerial ?.

What are the differences, the logical channel numbers are allocated by the epg ?

Are you in a location where you might receive from a English region transmitter and a Welsh or Scottish transmitter ?

Do the TV’s allow you to change the lcn’s ?

Can you check the UHF channels that you get on the TV’s for each mux compared to the 4000T ?

MUX (Short for Multiplex) – your local transmitter uses several UHF frequencies each one carrying multiple TV and radio channels.

Guessing you are likely to be using the Belmont transmitter.

You can check by using the dtg reception predictor here (use the detailed view).

This gives the UHF frequency used for the carrier frequency for each MUX as well as the reception prediction as a two digit number (used to 21 to 68 but the government sold off the higher frequencies for mobile reception).

Make a note of 1 channel on each Mux and it’s logical channel number.

Now using your 4000T, hoping the procedure will be identical.

Starting with say BBC 2 – channel 2 (PSB1) tune to 2

Now open Settings – Channel Settings – Signal test

You should see at the top of the screen the signal strength and quality for tuner 1 (quality is the most important it should be as close as possible to 100%) and they should be stable (not varying a lot). Above the bar graphs is a line of data, the UHF carrier used for the MUX is the first item. If you are on Belmont it should say CH22.

Repeat for the other Mux and post your results.

Your Tv’s should also have a way of showing the same info.

Example 4000T Blaze 063 Blaze + 080

TV1 No 063. Blaze 80 Blaze + 083

TV2 No 063. Blaze 80 Blaze + 083

The Humax 4000T is numbered as intended by the broadcasts.

The TVs are using the old numbers which were numbers from before 1st September. It is the TVs that need a retune.

You said that you tuned the TVs “recently”. If “recently” was before 1st September then that would be why they do not have the latest numbering. If “recently” was after 1st September then they did not fully retune.

What ever the reason, the TVs are not up to date. If you want the same numbering every where it is the TVs that you will need to retune the TVs. No amount of tinkering with the 4000T will cause it to go backwards to the old numbering.
