    I have an FVP4000T and I have had a lot of trouble with the remote controls – I am already on my 2nd, which was replaced free of charge by the manufacturer. However the next has gone the same way. Basically the central wheel of buttons, including the ‘OK’ button, become very unreliable and difficult to activate.

    My question is, can anyone recommend a 3rd party universal remote that works well with this or other Humax boxes?

    Many people here recommend the Harmony range of remotes. They are programmable via your PC.

    I personally use OFA Xsight remotes but sadly they are now discontinued.

    The problem you reported on your Humax remote is a known issue for early variants…I would contact Humax and see if they will replace it again.
