InactiveHi,
Not sure if anyone has the same problem. When I power on the unit it takes about 1 minute or so before it responds to IR commands. Annoying as usually you want to change channel and you just have to wait. The buttons on the top still work though. Tried the power on options and do not use remote programming or the file server. Also tried wired network rather than wireless. Made no difference. Its started do this in the last 2 months or so but I upgraded to the latest software back in April. Only thing I can now think off is a full reset but I guess that deletes all the recordings.
Thanks
Mike

InactiveWhich remote control are you using? The RM-LO3 has been superseded by the RM-LO8 to address just this sort of problem. Or are you saying that IR control is fine after that initial sluggish period? R-

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

‘1 minute or so before it responds…’ is not my experience of using units.
A reset would be an option, are you sure it is unit failing to respond and not the remote at fault…which remote do you have RM-L03 or L08?

Barry can you confirm that a reset on an FVP-4000T does not automatically delete recordings?

InactiveThanks for your quick response.
I do not think it is the remote as it starts working normally after about a minute. Also I use it mainly with a Harmony remote and it has the same effect. So my assumption is the base unit that is misbehaving.

Martin
Factory reset on the FVP 4000T has 2 options:
1. Reset All Settings – All channels and schedules will be deleted. All user settings will be reset to factory settings.
2. Reset All Settings & Format HDD – All channels, schedules, recordings, and media files will be deleted. All user settings will be reset to factory settings.
Option 1 does not delete recordings I have used it many times on 2 units.

ModeratorMike – I would suggest a factory reset then, make a note of your timers.

InactiveBarry – Thanks for that. Did as you suggested as all appears to be back to normal.
Cheers

Mike – which factory reset option sorted your problem?

That is unusual…
Try the first option in:
Settings
System Settings
Factory Default
‘Reset All Settings’
Make a note of your schedule list as it will be deleted, recordings are saved with this option.

InactiveHi,
I did option 1 Barry suggested (no HDD format) and it improved the problem a bit. It still does not always respond first time now but seems better.

InactiveSimilar issue here?
After nearly three months the box has started to fail to respond to the remote first thing in the morning: three times since Saturday.
The LED does not change colour. It does eventually after repeated attempts or after using “on” button on the box.
Have checked the seating of the batteries in the RM-L08 remote which seems to be OK. Reluctant to change the batteries as the remote works fine for the rest of the day.
Is this known problem with the full standby mode?

ModeratorNot something I have witnessed myself.
Have you tried a factory reset?

InactiveBarry – 1 hour ago Have you tried a factory reset?
Not yet.
I’ve just changed the batteries in the remote. I power cycled the Humax and the remote (with new batteries) did switch it on. It was a bit slow.
If this doesn’t work I’ll do a reset.
