InactiveHello,
I’m having severe problems with my box after retuning following an on-screen message stating that channels had moved and I needed to do so. I performed the retune on Tuesday evening (8th August) and all was fine that evening. An AutoUpdate was performed @ 4am the following morning since when all channels (worst BBC1 & 2) are pixelating badly with the addition of a signal booster – without the booster nothing works now, although was fine before the retune. Conversely Film4, ITV4 etc. seem fine with 60% signal and 50% quality; BBC1 drops out to 0% and 0% every so often.
I’m in West Wales, and I did a ‘Default’ followed by a manual retune to MUX’s 43, 46, 40, 42, 45 & 39 for the Preseli transmitter, something I’ve done loads before. On the 8th I picked up 125 TV channels without a booster – today I repeated the retune and got 38 WITH the booster, nothing without.
Software version is 1.00.26, loader version a 4.37.
Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

There haven’t been any automatic updates for years although the check still happens but will do nothing. I think the most likely explanation is that something has changed in the aerial cabling. I suggest having a very careful check that everything is fully plugged in; connectors are properly attached to the cable; no kinks in the cable; no evidence of water ingress; no obvious damage to aerial.

InactiveThanks so much for the advice. I’ve lashed up an old aerial to the existing cable and retuned, now back to 125 channels and 100% quality on BBC1 & 2. So whilst outwardly looking OK, obviously the aerial was well past its best. I need to source a (quality) replacement in the longer term, but for now at least I know what the fault is and what needs to be done, so thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
