My reception on the main TV and the old box are perfect and they find all the channels. But the new FVP-4000T plugged into the same aerial socket only finds 5 very minor channels! Looking at Signal Quality, Tuner 1 says only moderate signal and Tuners 2 and 3 say zero signal.

I notice, unlike other initial setup routines, it didn’t ask me what area I live in. (I live in London.)

    Help please!!

Could be too high a signal level for the presumably sensitive tuners, try a variable attenuator to reduce the level. Pretty sure I have read that unused tuners in a 4000T don’t give a reading. Try starting a recording and displaying a channel not on the same mux as the one you are recording.

Unfortunately it only found one mux (no. 29). If I use a little dinky set-top aerial it finds all the channels except HD.

Which shows you must be in a very high strength signal area (Close to Crystal Palace). The mux you got is by far the lowest power mux at only 20kW. The attenuator should sort it out.

I used a 12DB attenuator and hey presto, it found 177 channels. Who would believe a strong signal can be a bad thing.

If the signal is too strong the tuner output is clipped severely distorting the output signal.
