Hello everyone – first day on the forum for me.
A few questions for you all:
What do you consider to be (1) the best Freesat and (2) the best Freeview Humax boxes currently available as new.
Or, would your personal recommendation be to get one of the older models (used from eBay etc) and if so, why?

In respect of Freesat there are only 2 boxes available new…
HDR1100s – includes HDD for recording
HB1000S – has no HDD, you can attach an external one.

I should have added that I was only considering the recording models.
Because I’ve seen so many different 1100’s advertised, I hadn’t twigged that they were all the same machine and software, just different colours and HDD capacities.
As to the Freeview models, I’ve bought an HDR-1800T which may be faulty (see other thread), but if I take it back and exchange it, I may be able to upgrade to a better model such as the HDR-2000T, DTR-T2000 or the FVP-4000T.
