I have one each of the 1800T and 2000T and the HDR Fox T2 is green screening but that is another story.
The 1800t will freeze the on-screen image. I turn on my TV in the morning and the sound is fine but image is static, I can change channels but although the sound changes the image remains the same. Switching the PVR on and off resolves this.
On the 2000T I can loose sound completely. I use a sound bar connected to the TV(Samsung UE55KU6000 55″) via an optical cable and most of the time thee is not an issue. But I can switch the TV on and sound has gone and requires a reset of the PVR to resolve although connecting the soundbar directly to the PVR will give me sound but of course I need to switch the PVR at the same time as the TV else the sound from the program remains.
I am beginning to think that the quality of Humax is not quite as good as it once was or i am just unlucky.
Any thoughts?

No, it’s just going to be crappy HDCP which was foisted upon all of us. Does nothing to stop professional pirates and causes nothing but hassle for law abiding consumers.
Make sure all the devices are on the latest firmware.
switch off the cec-anynet on the samsung.
With the hdrFoxT2, have that connected to hdmi 1, with hdmi 2 & 3 unconnected, factory/default without formatting reset the hdrFoxT2, take a note of the schedule if necessary first. That may or may not cure the green screening.
With the 1800/2000T it’s going to be trial and error to see if you can find a work around unless somebody here has the exact same combination and has already worked through the different configurations. Keeping the cec-anynet off should help, but I imagine you’re going to have to change one thing at a time and wait a day each time before you get a clearer idea as to what works with your setup.
In my case, I ended up buying a hdmi switch that by-passed hdcp, makes a mockery of the hdcp rubbish, but solved a lot of the issues.

The Fox T2 I am not concerned with as I have got rid of that.

‘anynet’ is a name samsung gives CEC which allows devices to talk/communicate to each other, i.e. change volume, channel etc. of another device that’s connected.

The name will depend on the TV maker as they confusingly refer to CEC with their own invented names.

As you can see Samsung call it anynet+.
It’s possible to remove cec control from one TV input by fitting a modified adaptor that disconnects the control wire in the HDMI cable.

switching off anynet should help, it’s still likely to be a bit of trial and error though
I have the Sonos Playbar. This too uses optical plugged directly into the TV and provides audio for 2 PVRs plus ATV a Blu-Ray player, Chromecast as well as the TV. I initially had some issues with the 2000T both with picture and audio when booting up. This was resolved by using a passive splitter instead of pass thru.
Never had an issue with audio since then. Whether that is the issue with yours I cannot say.

Passing the aerial feed through the box to the TV. Requires low power sby to be off to power the small rf amplifier.

Okay I have one of those somewhere but cannot see why I would need it, or where I would fit it?
Currently the HDR 1800T is connected to the Samsung TV and that is the one that freezes. Turned on the TV this morning and until I switched the PVR off and on again I was stuck on some image from one channel.
The HDR 200T is connected to a Hisense LTDN40K321UWTS and this is the one that can drop sound.
