InactiveI have an HMS-1000T in Oz which I understand is not available in the UK(it is a 4 tuner variety) but I think my two questions re probably generic.
Firstly my TV does not react at all the On/Off button on my Humax remote. Is this basically an incompatibility with the frequency my TV uses and to just suck it up?
Secondly, whilst I can adjust the ‘skip’ time under settings, it is not obvious at all to me how I’m supposed to take advantage of this ‘skip’ function. I have a fast-forward button of course which cycles through 2x, 4x,8x,16x and 32x, but in settings I can set skip to 120seconds, so what and where am I supposed to press to get these 120second skips?

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

If the HMS-1000T is similar to our FVP 4000T then have to set the remote up to switch your brand of TV?
See http://au.humaxdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2016/10/RCU_Codelist_MDB1.3_01.pdffor the remote codes Edit: Site has wrong instructions for remote used on this product.
Instructions have now been corrected see:

Skip function uses the left and right arrow buttons around the centre OK button.

InactiveThanks for the tip about ad skipping – the manual does not mention this at all, and I have subsequently searched for it.
As for the Remote codes, my remote is a Humax RM-L02, and it does not respond in the way the instructions indicate. Yes the red light will come on whilst I press it, but continuing to hold for 3 or 33 seconds does not get it to stay on so that I can try inputting a code.
Could be that some Humax remotes have this capability and others don’t.

ModeratorApologises –
the instructions I referred you to earlier are wrong for that remote.Instructions have now been corrected (Thanks to Humax UK for organising)Are you pressing the TV and OK buttons together for approx. 3 seconds?

InactiveAahhh……
That is the trick!
The Remote Control manual does not say press the OK button at the same time, I know because I re-read it to make sure I hadn’t been dopey enough to miss it. I have subsequently found that the Humax manual DOES say to use both buttons, but their remote controller manual doesn’t, which is where I was lead astray.
Anyway, success! Firstly I pressed the TV and the OK button together, and bingo the TV button lights up and enters programming mode.
Next, someone on another forum thought that my TV was a re-branded Chinese Konka, and provided a long list of codes to try, many of which were 4 digits, whereas the Humax only accepts 3.
I worked my way through the list until the very last 4 digit code, so I entered the last 3 digits when suddenly the TV turned off!!! Well bugger me dead! Code 404 so it turned out.
It would be nice if their manuals were accurately reviewed and modified accordingly.
So a big thankyou for your tip!
thanks
John
