The remote and box are no longer talking although individually they seem ok. Remote blinks when seen via a camera. How do I restore remote to default settings? I think somebody may have messed with it.
Try taking the batteries out, then press and hold ok and 0 (zero) for 30 seconds, replace batteries and see if unit responds to remote now.
Hi. Thank you. So pleased. I have managed to get it to respond but a bit hesitant. It seems the box is ok so maybe the remote is suspect. Can I clean the keys in some way or do I need a new remote?
Have you tried cleaning the front of the box? A quick wipe with a slightly damp cloth on the window over the ir receiver can work wonders as dirt, fingerprints, fly specks, etc can hinder the ir receiver.
It didn’t look dirty but I have cleaned it anyway. It all seems to be working again so thank you for your advice. I will keep an eye on it for a while.
That’s exactly how my box started to go wrong.
If it gets to the stage that the record menu disappears it could be a relatively cheap fix.
