Hello I have followed Martin liddle’s instructions for installing and running firmware to fix a disk problem. It states it will take several hours which I was prepared for but it has now been running for 8 hours – is this normal?
At the moment it states searching for inode….debugfs1.42.13 (17 May 2015) the bit before that said bad sector offset:247.
Do I just leave it running overnight?

It all depends on the state of the hard drive. I think the longest time I have seen reported is 5 days but more than 8 hours is long but not exceptional.
Do I just leave it running overnight?
