I think this was a problem with the broadcast signal as it occurred several times during the one programme and I have not seen it before or after.

I was watching a recording of last night’s (30 Aug) 7pm La Vuelta highlights on ITV4. On several occasions, each lasting about 10 seconds, the picture looked as though I was viewing it through a thin film of water or slightly distorting glass – the image was covered with small arcs which looked like ripples in water. It was then OK.

The picture was coming from a camera carried on a motorcycle so I would expect more problems due to the extra radio transmission required and the possibility of interference. It was not the usual ‘pixelation blocks breakup’ you get when the demanded bandwidth is too high and the picture does not encode (decode?) properly.

    Has anyone seen anything similar?
