    FVP4000T Remote Batteries.

4K new for 6 weeks and Remote batteries need changing.

In fairness it is not known how old the batteries are, shelf life etc:

Any feedback from other owners please ?.

Hi graham uk, yes the batteries I think are just cheap ones that comes with unit, you better off putting something like Duracell batteries in. I have found that AAA batteries don’t seem to last long in remotes anyway compared with the ones that use the AA batteries. But saying that my old PVR remote has AAA batteries in and lasts 3 years before they needed replacing, but the remote is a little smaller, whether that had anything to do with it or not I don’t know.

    bill63. Yes,Understood.

Another reason possibly is there are so many options on this 4000T that the remote is used very often compared to my 10 year old Digiholme PVR which by the way is still performing well.

There is a little trick you could try first, try wiggling or rolling the batteries in the remote before replacing them.

Yesterday I went to change channels and nothing happened on my 4000T, then I noticed the light on the power button on the remote was flashing very dim. So before replacing them I just rolled the batteries round and the remote sprung back into full power.

Sometimes its not the batteries it just the connection on the battery terminals. This happens every now and again on my other PVR.

    bill63. Yes, that’s a good point…I do this on a weekly basis.
