InactiveHi, we’ve had this box about two months. The remote control is no longer working or, if it does work, it does only one thing then freezes again. What do we have to do to rectify? Thanks in advance.

InactiveTry pulling the power from the box, leave for a few minutes and then restore.

InactiveIt’s always a good idea to fully explain what you have already done to try to resolve the problem. Usually saves wasting your time and mine.

When the remote stops operation do the buttons on the unit still work?
Have you tried changing the remote batteries?

InactiveYes the buttons on the unit work and yes the remote had fresh batteries

ModeratorI’m clutching at straws here but….
Try taking the batteries out of the remote, then press 0 and OK for 30 seconds, replace batteries and try again.
If that fails to address problem you could try changing the remote code, see our FAQ’s.
Should that not fix the problem, and as your unit is still under warranty, you need to contact Humax Support for a replacement.

InactiveHi Barry,
Just had to jump on and say thank you so much for your advice. My remote stopped working today and I’d tried all the usual turning on and off, changing the batteries etc and still nothing. Found your reply about removing the batteries and pressing 0 and OK, and… it worked! All fully functioning again and you lifted me out of my Saturday grump, so thank you

InactiveWhen you say press 0 and OK for 30 sec you do mean simultaneously or 0 then OK for 30 sec? I can’t think how this would work when there are no batteries in, but I guess it must.

My understanding is that the idea is simply to ensure that any residual charge in capacitors is exhausted so the remote will reset it self when the batteries are replaced; works for me.

InactiveI’ve registered just to thank you for the OK 0 suggestion/solution. Can’t think how it works (with the batteries removed) but it solved my problem! Many thanks.
