We have a recently purchased an FVP 4000T and are still getting used to it.

A problem occurred this morning, I’ve not found a solution to it yet.

All buttons on the remote control appear to be working correctly,

except the square blue ‘HOME’ button.

Pressing it causes a red light to appear behind the red off button on the control, but nothing happens on screen.

The on-screen menu showing settings/tvguide/recording etc does not appear.

I’ve tried powering off the 4000T and repowering, after an interval, but that does not improve matters.

I applied the software update last month and everything worked okay then.

This unit was working properly until coming out of standby this morning.

I have a partner who cannot access her recordings, please tell me there is something I can do to make it work properly again.

I had a look through the forum and found another couple of things to try.

Disable cec on the tv and try a different hdmi socket.

    Still no luck.

As a last try, I turned off tv and 400T and pulled the plug at the wall.

After a few minutes I repowered and turned on tv and unit.

Well, well, I’m out of the doghouse, [it was at my suggestion we got the 4000T] it has decided to return to functioning normally.

I hope this isn’t going to be the beginning of a procession of errors.

    maybe i’ll be lucky maybe…

Be aware that the “repeat send” on the remote control is very fast. Prove it by watching TV, and press and hold 1. See how quickly the display goes 1 > 11 > 111 > 1111.

So, if you hold the ON/OFF button down too long it cycles ON > OFF > ON > OFF which can? will? cause problems.
