Inactive4000T Screen Resolution set to 1080p most channel are fine,
QUESTION 1. but example Ch 66 (JudgeJudy)shows like zoom screen very stretched not even right volume bar in view.
If I set to 576p then screen shows as it should be.
QUESTION 2. Setting it to 576p overall does this mean poorer picture quality on all channels ?.
Our TV has a Screen button that one can easy fast switch between Widescreen…Normal…4X3…Zoom. Can’t see this option on 4000T.

ParticipantSetting to 576p for HD channels will reduce the resolution to 720 x 576. Does your TV not have a auto option in the aspect ratio settings.

Inactivegrahamlthompson. Yes Sony TV auto adjusts to the transmition from different channels 4.3 or 16.9
The FRP4000T does not auto change so some channel older transmitions which be 4.3 the Humax shows them over sretched even though it’s set 1080p & Auto.
We tend to watch TV always through the 4000T so can manage everything with the one only control.

ModeratorNot sure this will help but…
Have you tried setting (on the FVP 4000T) the display format to pillarbox? – I only use 1080i resolution setting.

I have just checked LCN 66 Judge Judy, and can confirm that it is shown correctly in 4:3 on my TV.
My FVP-4000T is set to
Screen Ratio – 16:9
Display Format – Auto
Resolution – 1080p
I suspect that your problems are due to the settings on your TV.

Inactivebrian. Your reply appreciated…I will look into TV settings.
TV direct the Programs mentioned display correctly but through 4000T it’s stretched wrong as stated.
We are trying with our ageing brains to just use ONE remote control if that’s possible ?.

InactiveGraham, if you give the make and model number of your TV, someone may be able to help with the settings required for the HDMI input used by your FVP-4000T.
