When I first set up my FVP-4000T it automatically switched my sony LCD digital tv on. Now this has stopped and I have to use my sony remote. What settings have I mistakenly changed?

While I have your attention could you comment on another problem I am having.
If I turn the FVP off and then want to turn it on again the blue light shows but then turns red. I have to wait a few minutes before I can turn it on again with the blue light remaining on.
Have you any thoughts as to what is going on?
It seems that the box does not come on if you power ON > OFF > ON quickly. When I do so, I think I neded to do a reboot, but waiting a few more seconds might also fix it. It may be unique to using CEC with my Panasonic Viera with Viera link connected by HDMI.
