InactiveI have reported to Humax that my FVP-4000T will not start up now.
they say:
I’m afraid we can’t replace this as the replacement will have the same issue, our development team is looking into this and we hope to release the update in the near future that will fix this.
Unfortunately there are no further steps I can send.
Since then they will not answer my email.
How do they expect me to install a update when they get one if I cannot get it to start up?
My only thoughts now are the small claims court or trading standards.
Today I cannot get the FVP-4000T to turn on, so there is no way I could install any software upgrade!
I believe my unit has more problems than just software.
I repeat it is under guarantee and needs replacing.

InactiveDepending on the where you purchased the product they are your first port of call. If the box is less than six month old you don’t have to even prove a fault – it is up to the supplier to prove there isn’t one. They are allowed one repair but even that must not greatly inconvenience the consumer.
Trading Standards will probably tell you what I am telling you. You have your rights but it is up to you to exercise them.

If it was purchased from Humax direct then simply return it with a covering letter and indicate you expect reimbursement for the cost of returning said product, again which you are entitled to in law for a faulty item.

Why do you want a replacement when the manufacturer states the replacement will have the same problem?
If you want a refund, see https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/ for advice on your rights and how to proceed. If you want to stick with the FVP4000T, your best plan is to wait for the update, IMO. That’s more likely to solve your problem, faster, than trying to force Humax to pointlessly replace the box.
