Can anyone help – all of our recordings have disappeared and no idea if we can retrieve them.
It is a well known problem. They can be retrieved by opening the Humax, connecting the hard drive to a PC (perhaps using a USB to SATA/IDE adapter) and then using humaxrw in recovery mode (“-r” command line paramter). You can download humaxrw from Link to MyHumax Blog
Whether you can replace the recordings will be possible on a 9200 but probably not possible on a 9150/9300.

Thanks – but this all sounds far too technical for me! Don’t think I’d even manage to open my Humax never mind get as far as using recovery mode. I guess I just have to leave it at that

At the very least reformat the drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu.
