InactiveI have used two Humax Fox T2’s for around two years, and they worked very well for me, until one unit failed.
I then bought the FVP 4000T on the 20.10.2015.
I keep getting a problem with the FVP 4000T turning itself on when it should not be on.
Very often after it has recorded a set programme, instead of going back to standby it stays switched on, blue light showing.
I have reset both the remote control codes 3 times, but again after a few days turning on the Fox T2 also turns on the FVP 4000T
All I do now is keep a list of when the FVP 4000T should be on and turn it off with the remote when it should not be on.
Has anyone else found any of these problems?

ModeratorYes – I spotted this for the first time yesterday when booting a HDR 1010S….
Still trying to work out what is causing it.
Initially thought HDMI CEC even though it is turned off on TV – though Philips implementation is pants as it switches back on by itself!

InactiveThink I had the same on my Philips – but standby cycling it after turning HDMI-CEC off (leaving attached units on) did the trick.

I think I tried that a while ago, but will try again as connected devices have changed since last attempt, many thanks for reminder.
For the OP – I do not have a HDR T2 in same locale only HDR 1010/1100S freesat units.

ModeratorIt is not a CEC problem – simple test, disconnect the FVP 4000T HDMI connection to TV and unit still booting when powering up the HDR 1010S.
Will report this to support supervisor, hoping it will get passed onto engineering team.

InactiveHello, I have disconnected the FVP 4000T HDMI connection to the TV, a LG 42LB650V Smart 3D 42″ LED TV. It is still powering up the FVP 4000T when I power up Fox T2.
Also the FVP 4000T does still stay powered up after a timed recording with the HDMI lead disconnected.

Change the remote mode of one of the remotes.

Just to clarify other issue. Are you saying the box wakes from sby to make a recording, but then fails to return to sby when recording completes. ?

ModeratorGraham what is actually happening is other Humax remotes using a different code are for some reason booting the FVP 4000T.
For example my lounge FVP 4000T will boot up when I boot the HDR 1010/1100S even though they both use different codes.
I initially thought it could be HDMI CEC some how coming into play, but have now disproved that theory.
The unit obviously will not shut down to standby after a timer because it was switched on (by another remote) before timer started.

Thanks Barry that clarifies the situation. How very odd. Presumably lacking a display it’s not obvious the box is booted. In the mean time there is aways the cardboard over the ir window on the FVP-4000T approach.

InactiveMy box will occasionally power up when using a different remote control, and when powered up this way, will not power down after a scheduled recording has finished. This is exactly what I would expect to happen though.
I have never had a problem with the box returning to standby after making a scheduled recording from standby.

ParticipantIf the other boxes boot like the HDR FOX T2 does by pressing zero, does this avoid the unwanted boot on the FVP-4000T. Or does the off toggle on another box cause one to go off and the FVP-4000T to turn on ?

ModeratorNone of my remotes turn the FVP off again, they only turn it on.

If you turn on the other kit using 0 or 00 does it resolve the issue ? Assuming they boot with zero(s).

ModeratorZero on HDR T2, 1800T, 2000T whilst booting those units does not appear to boot the FVP 4000T – the power button does.
