Inactivechannel loss, intermittent I have a FOXSAT-HDR supporting Freeat+ with 2 cables and working OK since purchase in 2012. Since August this year problems with intermittent loss of certain channels (e.g. BBC1 and 2,BBC News and Channel 4)whereas other channels remain OK (incl. BBC1HD and BBC2HD).Rebooting box, unplugging from mains and waiting, reinstalling using freesat search have no effect. However, after some hours the problem rights itself, apparently at random.Signal strength/quality are indicated at around 85%, however in Diagnostics Tuners 1 and 2 are indicated at 0. Set has also now developed a background hum. Any similar experiences or ideas welcome. peter ranft near Jarnac, Charente)

ParticipantHi and welcome to our forum. Incidentally the post is in the wrong thread, hopefully a friendly administrator will move it to the Foxsat-hdr threads.

Looking at your location it is possible that the issue is weather related following the moving of the main UK channels to tight focus UK spot beams. (You may require a larger dish).
First thing to try is a factory reset (before you do so make a note of your recording schedule and make sure you can get channel 999).
If you can’t get 999 do not re-tune or factory reset (the postcode validation will fail, leaving you with no channels).

ModeratorRegarding the hum you are experiencing, its probably vibration caused when the HDD is running. Try moving the unit slightly or placing soft pads under the feet.
