InactiveIs it possible to search the full 7 day guide by Genre?
I tried selecting Genre (by some fairly convoluted key presses!) to find Movies, but could only get a display of Movies that are on today? Does anyone know how to find a list of movies coming up in the next week?
I use this function quite a lot on my HDR-T2 so am hoping I can do the same thing on the FVP-4000T

InactiveI get the same issue. I have the FVP4000T with S/W Version: UKTFAE 1.00.59 & Loader UKTFAE 1.03.
Before anyone blames the broadcasters fro setting the wrong “Genre” in the listing, I also have a PVR9200T that I wanted to replace.
Currently I am doing the Genre search on that (with less channels) and get 250 results; looking for the films I want and then manually searching for each. On the new box – less than 15 films are listed for the Movie search. I did the search in the morning, and I didn’t even get a whole day – just up to about 16:00.
I assume this is a bug that will be fixed in a future S/W update.
Any idea when?
Is there a work-around?
I have tried standing on one leg to do the sdearch, but that didn’t work. Any other ideas welcome.

InactiveI posted about this a couple of months ago. Searching for films was really useful but all I can do now, as you have said is search on that day only. Totally pointless.
I had a 9200 before this model and used the genre search a lot. We are now having to pay for a paper TV guide to see what’s comming up to record. Not ideal given we should be able to do it for free on the Humax.
Maybe, just maybe Humax a reading this thread and will factor it into their next update……

InactiveCan someone with some knowledge of the box please help with my questions:
Any idea when the next S/W update is expected?
Will this be fixed in that update?
Is there a work-around to the Genre Search not working?

No idea when but my unit now has auto updated to software version 1.00.73 dated 11 Jan 2016.
Have not spotted any obvious changes though.

Dissappointingly, the new update (software version 1.00.73 dated 11 Jan 2016) doesn’t change the limited way Genre search works. It still only picks up movies for the next 5 or 6 hours or so!

InactiveI hope someone from Humax reads this forum and takes note of this request, it was really handy to be able to seach the whole EPG by genre.

I have done a manual update and got 1.00.73, but I agree that the genre search bug is atill not fixed. But I did get 19 films in the results the other night (still not the 250+ that I would have expected). Still not all channels and still only a few hours worth. Please Humax, fix this one – I want to move the PVR 9200T out of the way, but still need it for this search!!!

InactiveCan someone from Humax please give an extimate of when the Genre Search bug is going to be fixed?
Do you need some help? If you provide me a copy of the code (and preferably the design documentation) then I could have a look.

InactiveJust got this response from Humax Customer Support:
Hi Mark,
Thank you for contacting Humax.
This unit is different from the PVR9200T, it will only show a selection of movies on the FVP, this is not a software fault I’m afraid.
Best Regards,

My response is:
Yes, the genre search is different on the FVP4000T compared to the older PVR 9200T in that the feature does not work on the new model.
Genre Search feature is a standard basic feature on PVRs that searches the EPG for all results with that Genre. It is NOT a feature that searches a random number of channels a “Bit” into the future and provides those results.
Come on Humax, please accept this is a once useful feature that you have broken on the latest box.
The way it is at the moment I cannot even perform the search in the morming to record films that evening if I – am going out after work!!!
It is a broken feature – i.e. A BUG.
Please fix it.
