InactiveI’ve BT infinity broadband. My HDR1000 is connected to router via ethernet/powerline networking.
I can’t seem to use –
*iplayer
*itvplayer
*4oD
*Channel 5 thingy
But YouTube and Curzon Home Cinema are fine. I’ve also got a NowTV! box and it’s happy with the above.
What generally seems to happen is that the players will show the programs available but selecting one, the waiting indicator appears and nothing ever happens. Whilst I can use the NowTV! box, it’s not ideal (it’s connected via wifi, don’t like what it does to the picture, etc).
Looking at previous posts, other people seem to have experienced similar but slightly different problems. Tried some of the solutions suggested but, sigh, haven’t helped.

ParticipantHi welcome to the forum. Does iplayer work using channel 901 and itv player using channel 903 ?

InactiveHi graham,
901 – BBC iPlayer gets to the screen showing available programmes, selecting one, well, the spinny thing justs keeps going round
903 – ITV player gives message –
“The service is not currently available. Please try again later. (10001)”

ParticipantWolfhall playing back OK in HD from 901 using my HDR1000S.
ITV player working OK on 903 though very slow to load press red to start splash screen. Yesterdays Corrie playback is working.
Might be worth resetting your router.

Inactive+1.
If I got to Home | On Demand the box either says “On Demand loading will be available shortly” or “Unavailable”. If I got to Settings | Network I can verify the connection.
If I got to “Showcase” and select an iPlayer programme, I can watch that programme, and then access the rest of iPlayer functionality too – so the issue is not with network connectivity.
There is a problem with the box – looks like I am not the only one.
software version is: UKSFAA 2.02.07
Loader version is: UKSFAA 1.08

You omit previous experience – was working or not, other units in network can or cannot access, all hosts using DHCP?

Inactiveall hosts on LAN using dhcp. All other nodes on the network can access internet (I think the fact that you ultimately can utilise iPlayer demonstrates base connectivity).
Previously accessing via “On Demand” was working fine.

InactiveI’ve now got iPlayer (901) and ITV player (903) working.
I had a hunch that it was something to do with my DNS server (it lives on my own server) so I plugged the HD1000 into a spare switch and reconfigured the DNS to use Google and lo!
On demand – that’s not working though. Even YouTube and Curzon Home Cinema that worked before. Two steps forward, one step back, I suppose.

InactiveFreesat’s current statement on these problems:
Quote:Issues with Freetime boxesUpdate 13 January 2015
We’re sorry that a small number of customers may still be experiencing difficulties accessing On Demand despite following the recent updates.
We love TV and know you do too, so please hang in there while our team work to resolve the issue. We’re currently working towards an urgent automatic update with Humax that will resolve the issue for all those customers still affected.
Once we have a further update we’ll let you know here, but please don’t hesitate to contact us on 03450 990 990 if you have any questions.
The Freesat Team
Followed by a number of suggestions for trying to get it working.

InactiveWhat’s most perplexing about all this is that whilst some things have simply refused to work, others sometimes work, work a bit (eg 4oD shows ads and not the programme) or not work at all on a seemingly random basis.

InactiveIt’s not encouraging that that Freesat statement about an “urgent” update from Humax is dated more than a month ago.

InactiveRecently got a Humax 1010S and still learning it’s quirks.
I find that itvplayer, when I can access it, does not seem to have previous versions in a series. For instance, I can view last night’s episode of Mr Selfridge, but not any previous episode.
If I go into itvplayer on my tv connected to my Virgin Tivo box, all the previous episodes are there.
Is this a shortcoming of Freesat, or a problem with the 1010S, or something else?

InactiveDifferent rights agreements, presumably.

One of my reasons for dumping Virgin was that their catch-up service didn’t deliver the whole of BBC iPlayer and what it did deliver wasn’t always timely. Your mileage may vary but inconsistency, difficulties of delivery, etc are driving me more and more towards a Windoze based media pc than dedicated boxes.

InactiveI live in the countryside, I only have a slow broadband connection, about 3 to 4 meg and my HDR1000S works perfectly on catchup, it doesn’t need superfast or fibre. I have had my box for less than two weeks but it seems to do everything it should. Haven’t seen that Curzon Cinema thing that someone mentioned but BBC/ITV/4OD/and 5 catchup services all work.
My software said it is from November 2014.
