InactiveI was supposed to take delivery of an new HDR-2000T 500 gig PVR today from a well known retailer. However, I received an email this morning stating that due to unforeseen circumstances they were unable to fulfill my order. Having spent some time online trying to source another one most retailers are reporting no stock or selling at very high price.
What on earth is going on? John Lewis as an example are no longer showing the 500 gig model as an option and have no stock of any other Humax models.
I really don’t want to purchase from the ‘store of last resort’ or Dixons Group as they like to call themselves though they are one of only a few that do have stock. I just couldn’t face having to go through the hassle of having return to their stores if a fault surfaced.
Humax Direct hasn’t been up and running for the last few days only adding to the mystery.

Argos do indeed have stock but at an eye-watering £179 not the £159 that most have been selling them at. Tesco was the store. When I retried later today it took me right to the final order button then stated no stock. I think the order was coming from Hughes Direct in conjunction with Tesco.

InactiveHi Barry, Richer Sounds quoted me stock but then my local store rang me to say unfortunately they could only supply the 1TB model. As it is only a back up to my 1000s I declined their offer.

Looks like you’re not the only one chasing these boxes at the reduced price of £159.

InactiveA different retailer I’ve noticed has upped their price for the hb1000s by £20 between yesterday and today.
I don’t want to start a false rumour, but retailers wouldn’t use humax direct’s ordering system would they? It’d explain lack of stock and price increases when numbers get low.

I wish I had gone for one of the A refurbs on the Humax site before the site was taken down now. They were only asking £109.00.
