Hi, i’ve been lurking for a while, trying to getting info to decide what to buy.

So I’ve eventually gone for the HDR-1010S, I’m amazed at how much information is NOT in the manual. Other than the basics it was mostly trial and error to get it up and running. I couldn’t get WiFi to work but it’s ok with the ethernet cable. Can someone tell me how many APPS can be downloaded to my machine. As far as I know I’ve done everything correct but there is only newspapers, Flickr, Picasa and WiKi. I thought there would be more.

The box has got a bit of a dual nature. On the one hand it’s a Humax PVR, and in that rôle it offers you the Humax Portal, with Picasa, Flickr, etc.

On the other hand it’s a FreeSat FreeTime box, and in that rôle it offers you the OnDemand section, with the catchup apps, YouTube, Curzon, etc.

I seldom visit the Humax portal.

Thanks all, Yes I’ve got the on demand stuff, it’s the TV Apps that I thought there would be more choice. Maybe more in the future.
