PVR-9300T , after a power cut in the night our box now just shows PVR-9300T in the display and we cant get it to do anything else, what could be the problem,

Hard to be sure based on what you say. I would start by opening the Humax (with the mains power disconnected) and removing the connections to the hard drive. Replace the cover and see if the Humax will boot and function as a set top box. If it will then the most likely problem is that there is a problem with the file system on the hard drive. The easiest fix is to format the drive in a PC.
