Hi Folks

I’ve got a Humax HDR-1000S Freetime Smart 1TB Freesat+ HD and am thinking of adding a NAS to my home system (mostly for back up but also to store a growing collection of movies). I’m looking at the Synology 415play which has 1080p Full HD video transcoding on the fly.

The TV is probably the weakest point as although its a Samsung 32″ although old enough not to be ‘smart’

Firstly is this a good call? I’m presuming the Humax will be able to see the NAS and as its hardware transcoding will be happy with the incoming data? The Humax is sitting on the network via a Netgear Powerline port which seems stable enough.

Thoughts would be really appreciated
