InactiveHi, does anyone know if Humax intend to add the ITV player to the HDR 2000’s list of catch-up services? It’s great having the BBC iplayer “on tap” but still a hassle having to connect the laptop to the tv to watch ITV catch up programmes.

InactiveFollow-up post to this one. I emailed Humax UK and got a reply today stating there are no plans to extend the range of on-demand services for the HDR 2000-T. So as far as catch-up TV is concerned it looks like it’s BBC iplayer only.

InactiveI was going to purchase a Humax HDR 1800T (because recommended by WHICH) mainly to ‘catch-up’ on TV programmes, as well as recording other programmes of course. Just read that BBC iplayer is the only channel available for catch up so I won’t buy the Humax.

YouView boxes have the most catchup. But have assorted drawbacks which may or may not matter to you, such as no DLNA, no padding on recording timers, very limited user control.

ParticipantConsider a £15.00 Now TV box. Afaik no plan subscription required for the free catch up services.

InactiveAlso, Humax are expected to launch their new Freeview Play box quite soon (http://www.seenit.co.uk/freeview-play-epg-revealed-boxes-to-cost-229/).
If that interests you, you could get a NowTV box, as suggested by Graham, to tide you over until the Freeview Play box is out and you can have a look at it.

You require either a SMART TV with all the players or the cheaper option of the HDR 1000s/1100s. I also have the 2000T but don’t expect any of the other players to come to this platform – period.
Failing that as others have said one of the streaming devices such as the Roku 2.

InactiveBest solution for freeview is a smart tv + hdr2000t for freeviewHD recordings. Not everything is available on catch up and most is time limited.

InactiveIn 2020 is it still the case that HDR 1800T does not have ITV hub? All I can get on mine is BBC I player, and U-Tube. Would like to confirm, and may have registered incorrectly. Thanks

You are correct no ITV hub on an HDR-1800T.
