I tend to record about half a dozen programs on R4 extra each week, and some programs can start up to 5 minutes late.

I’m sure I read somewhere that start and stop AR commands are not used on radio.

At the moment the only choice is Accurate Recording or Padding.

I would like to have the choice of setting up AR or Padding when setting a recording.

If we were presented with

AR

or similar under General Settings we could edit the start and end in the Padding menu and then be given the choice of enabling either menu or both.

Accurate Recording menu would require start and end locked to Auto.

Then, when setting a recording if a single menu was enabled the user wouldn’t see a difference.

On the other hand if both menus where enabled, an extra button push would be required to select

AR or Padding.

What do others think? Am I asking for too much?
