InactiveI keep getting the “Please Wait”
Tried all the turning off and restarting, unplugging etc
In Full Maintenance Mode recovery which I have followed from info on this site all the options report failed.
Guess when this started, 2 years 2 months from Purchase with the 2 year warranty.
Any ideas what it might be before I take it outside and apply my sledgehammer. ?

ParticipantWhich box ? Sounds like a Youview one though, if so should be in the Youview threads.

InactiveSounds terminal. I would contact the retailer to request repair/replacement/refund (retailer’s choice) under the Sale of Goods Act. An expensive PVR should last longer than 26 months.

InactiveWeren’t the first Humax Youview released less than 2 years ago and so all of them would still be under 2 years old?

InactiveSorry I scanned the list and didn’t see a Youview Forum. still can’t see it
Can you transfer this across for me ?
It was bought direct from Humax Direct on 12 Jan 2012
Yes a Youview DTR T 1010 /GB/1TB
The one with the the vol – button on the centre button .
I have cycled through every maintenance mode option which takes hours out of your life watching the please wait.
I was just going to give in and one option actually gave a start but it showed the program guide as Saturday 1st Jan 2000 and software update as never.
It then would not turn off on the power button at all. Turning off at the switch on the back waiting and it won’t start again.
The very odd thing when I did start it was this.
I had to go through the postcode, the tuning etc as though it was a new machine again but the 55 per cent full drive still had my recordings ?
The guide still showed Jan 2000.
Now after shutting it off it is back to the please wait for ever
Thank you for the sale of goods suggestion. Perhaps Humax will be good enough to help out.

Better check your paperwork. As Luke said, the box wasn’t on sale at that time.

First check if the box is still under warranty. If not, you can either contact Humax-as-retailer, under the Sale of Goods Act, or you can contact Humax-as-manufacturer, to get a repair which you will have to pay for. Not cheap.

InactiveThank you all . Further checking and it was indeed a year younger than I had written down and the item was exchanged under warranty.
