The file type when copying a recorded video to the USB is “MPEG-2 TS Video”. I would like to copy this to a file type that can be played on a DVD player or my PC.

I have downloaded so many programs that claim to do this but none of them can recognise the file type and they just hang.

Can anyone recommend some software that works?

    Thanks

Strange, VLC player should play the .ts on a PC, along with loads of others. You could simply try changing the .ts to .mpg.

Have just downloaded VLC player but it just does the same as all the others. The playbar shows the length of the file and moves along but nothing on screen. Have tried changing to mpg but just the same.

Do you have the custom firmware installed?

Are the files encrypted by any chance?

If it’s HD then it certainly looks like it. Try an SD recording instead, they are all unencrypted.

    Hi

Yes, I think they are HD recordings. I’ll try SD.

    Thanks
