I have used many Humax PVRs since their arival, and even a Humax TV/PVR. I currently have a HDR-Fox T2. I got the Humax YouView to receive BTSport over my BT Infinity broadband.

1st Mistake – apparently I need to use the BT provided identical box so that BT can enable YouView BTSport, then I can apparently use this box. Currently I can receive BTSport on PC/iPad only. The logic escapes me. YouView are suggesting that this might change with an update.

2nd problem – the YouView and the HDR-Fox T2 use the same remote codes if you do something on the YouView, you’ll screw something up on the HDR-Fox T” and vice versa if they are in the same room. Wonderful!

3rd problem – Even if I move the HDR-Fox T2 to another room, I can’t transfer or watch programs held on it. I can copy them to my LAN or watch via PC, but the YouView is completely incompatible – except for the almost 100% compatibility/clash with the remote.

It’s a shame that you have to get one to find these things out.

In the past there were (Hummy.org.uk) forum hackers who could find ways round such inconveniences, but they’ve moved on.

I’ve currently continued with the HDR-Fox T2 with the YouView switched off until I can resolve at least one of these.

    Welcome to our Forum :-)

Point 2 – Easy fix, change the remote code of the HDR T2 see FAQ:

The remote is not a problem, you can change the HDR FOX T2 to a different ir channel.

    Ta!

I’ve also discovered that the ‘Free BTSport’ doesn’t include YouView – that requires £5/month for a YouView Box http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=34742&s_cid=con_FURL_player. I’ll have to see if I can get a BT one and get Sport without paying any more…
